Every day I go out back very early in the morning and just before dark hoping to see deer. So far I have never seen any. G'pa always spots them when I'm not with him. He'll say to me when I get home from work...I saw about 10 deer right out in the open tonight. Phooey!!! We even put feed out for them, but I still have not seen any.
Today was very, very foggy till about 10:30. G'pa and I went to feed as always. It's still quite cold here about 37. We went down to check on the mamma calves (I'm still waiting for another new baby, wont be long either). They were clear at the bottom of the pasture, so we drove down there. Just then G'pa says in a very quite voice, look straight ahead...theres 2 deer. YIPEE...finally I see them. Except, there aren't 2 of them, we counted 8!!! They were about 75 yards away, very easy to spot, up in the trees. They stayed there, and we stayed and watched them for about 2 hours. I got some pictures but you really have to look to see them. Can you spot them????
Well that just made my day. I love to watch them, they are very easily spooked animals. They look up and look around quite often looking for signs of danger. G'pa and I were surrounded by cows so I dont think they ever did see us. Good start for the day :)
