It's been a LONG time...

Now thats a BULL

See our brand..the Diamond H

I know it's been a long time since I've posted, but I've been awfully busy.

I went to Colorado to see all our wonderful grandchildren. What fun...but you sure all can wear a person out quick. Ok maybe I'm just getting old. We went shopping, swimming, and out to eat. They sure do make my heart smile. There's always someone who wants to sit on your lap, hear you sing to them, read to them, but best of all, there are plenty of HUGS to go around. Nana does love hugs.

I thought the ride would be bad, but it wasn't. We saw antelopes (many / many), elk, cows, and even a few camels. Yes camels. There isnt much to see as far as greenery or sites along the way, so the animals were a pleasant sight.

I sure do love staying in a hotel though. You make the room a mess, you go out for the day, come back and its all clean and the bed is made for you. Now thats nice!!!!!

Grandpa and I have been busy here. We have leased 250 acres of land just 3 miles down the road and are in the process of putting 75 momma / baby pairs of cows there. Grandpa spent alot of time down there getting it ready. He had to cut the grass / bale it up / stack it all for hay for in the winter, when we dont have so much grass. Right now the grass is hip high. There were a few bumpy places in the road he fixed, quite nicely too I might add.
There is a great fishing pond there. I tried it out as soon as I could, and I caught a bunch of really nice sized bass. Christian you should be here :(

Now in my city girl days I would have thought you just go to a farm store and buy all 75 pairs of cows at a one time. Yes...We'll take 25 black ones / 25 red ones etc. WELL, it doesnt work like that lol. We had to order them and someone buys them for us. They ship them in from all over. So far we have about 20 pair of momma/baby, and 2 big bulls. When they deliver them its my job to get pictures of them and document what color they are, whether they have a boy/girl calf with them, etc. Well taking pictures of those cows are HARD work lol. They run for the woods the minute you let them off the trailer. Some have had a long ride, and then they get "worked" (tagged, branded, and shots). By the time they get here some are a bit "wild". I'm excited to be doing this adventure, because soon we will have ALOT of new babies around.

Gram is doing great and soon goes to see about getting "the plate" taken out of her hand. She will most happy when she can drive again.

This weekend we drove down town and watch the fireworks. They were very nice, and I like fireworks alot.

AND......guess what??? Momma cat is going to have babies again.

We have a new horse too. Her name is Dixie. I'll post pictures later of her. She's gonna have a baby around Thanksgiving time. I'm really excited about that. Start thinking of some names for a baby horse lol. We have so many animals now I'm running out. lol.
