Oh my gosh...

Our new rooster, he is good at waking us up everyday.

Gpa and his coyotee.
We call this little one "skunk" isnt he a cutie?

This is a baby brahmer, see the hump and his big ears?

This was the chameleon we spotted.

Oh my gosh...I can't believe its been 2 months since I've posted. My only excuse is we don't get out much in the winter. Yeah we go out and feed and that's about it. So I don't have much to say during the winter months. But now that it's spring we go out everyday I dont work and spend much of the day out and about.

We have 14 calves on our back forty and only one more momma left to calve. We are going to cut out some of our older cows and cut our momma herd back to 10. With them now theres not much to do but check them everyday, since all have had their babies. 90% of them look alike, just in different sizes. We still have 50 yearling in the back, but they will be sold in early June.
Then we can get more and start all over with them.

The mommas at the ranch are just now starting to calve and so far we have 35 babies. That leaves about 40 left to deliver. I love going down there and taking pictures of all the new babies and cataloging them for Gpa. While we were there yesterday I saw a beautiful neon green chameleon, that changed colors right before my eyes. It went from neon green to a light brown. It was pretty awesome. Gpa saw a snake, to my relief I didnt lol.

Gpa and I went down one day last week to hunt for hogs. We didnt see any of them, but Gpa did shoot a coyotee. They will attack the baby calves if they get the chance. Gpa is a great hunter and tracker. He was born to be in the woods I think. I think Gpa is just great all around though.

Gram is doing good and able to get back out now that the weather is better. She enjoys going, but the cold weather is hard on her. So she is much happier now.
So I will promise to try harder to post at least weekly, so check back for new posts and pictures.
The past 2 months have been busy for birthdays...Laney, Joshua, Christian, Nathan, and Zeke all got a year old. They sent the nicest home made thank you cards, that Gpa and I just loved. They can always make me smile.
