Day 1 - Sulphur Springs to Trinidad, CO.

Fancy tolerating the ride
Wind Turbines

Big Texan's Boot

Big Texan parking lot

Up before the sun, we left SS shortly before 5. Had a decent trip to Dallas airport to let Mom off for her flight to Ohio. I'm glad she gets to go and spend time with my sister and her friends, but I will miss her.

After saying goodbye we headed out for our end destination today, Trinidad, CO. We arrived here about 5 pm. Not a bad trip.

We saw alot of wildlife on the way here. Saw lots of antelope, I couldnt get a picture of them, there was no where to pull off. We also saw 4 elk traveling across a field. Neat. We saw a ton of cows, Grandpa and I were amazed they were fat cows, cause it doesnt look like theres any grass, just rocks and a few scattered trees.

We saw these neat wind machines, turbines, there were about 60 of them. Not something you see everyday.

We stopped and ate at the Big Texan in Amarillo. What a neat place. They had a real live, BIG rattlesnake in there. Skeeeeeeeery, but the food was Yummmmmmy!!

As we were driving Granpa says, "its raining over there." I look and you can see the rain falling in the dark clouds ahead. You can see forever out here. About 20 minutes later we run into it, it rained like cats and dogs (thats a funny saying). It poured for about 15 minutes the biggest raindrops I have ever seen. What was amazing was it dropped 30 degrees in that 15 minutes, it went from 90 to 60.
So far the trip is going great. Can't wait to get going tomorrow. Were leaving early so we can see all animals out and about in the morning.
