Lazy days of summer

Today I got called off work....YIPEEE. It's so very hot I hate to do just about anything. Gpa and I went and fed the calves early today, and there was a great breeze blowing. He was going to go and cut some hay for someone so I decided I'd try some fishing.

I went to the new land were leasing to try it out. I fished one of the small ponds in the front. Its open and theres not a tree around for shade, so I didnt last long there lol. Especially since all I was catching were lil baby bass.

So I moved to the bigger pond hidden back in the woods, with lotsa shade. Well I hit the jackpot with the fish. I guess it was still early enough that they were biting really good. I fished for about 3 hours and was starting to get tired. I had already caught about 25 big fish. What fun too. I thought this is gonna be my last cast, my back was killing me. So I threw it and plop it went just off to my left and about 3 feet from the shore, near a downed tree. I thought "great" it'll get hung up in that tree and I'll lose my spinner. Reeling in I started to feel some resistence. Well shoot I was hung up in that dang tree. So I kept reeling and then I stopped and the line started going back out.....whoo hoo.....it was a fish.....and A BIG ONE at that. When I finally got it in, this was one I had to play with a bit to get in. It was a beauty. I measured it and it was 19 inches long...ok almost 19 inches. Close enuff for me lol.
